FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONs IN THE CUSTOM CLOTHING WORLD WITH DANIEL

Q: What is your typical turn-around time?

A: Our current turn-around times are running 4-5 weeks on average. Delivery times are estimates, and each order may vary. Expedited service is available for an additional charge – please contact us for rush order options.

Q: What fabrics do you offer?

A: We carry thousands of luxurious fabrics from all around the world. We carry brands like Holland & Sherry, Drago, Gladson, United Silks, Marzoni, Draper’s & Damon’s, Ogden, collections from Jodek, and much more. We carry various materials including wool, Cashmere, linen, monair, bamboo, super 100s to super 200s, and more. All fabrics are available in many various colors and patterns.

Q: Who do you make clothing for?

A: We take pride in taking ANYONE as a customer: men, women, transgender, non-binary, etc. We want everyone to look and feel their best in our clothes. This is why it’s important to communicate what you want to look like: bigger, smaller, more masculine/feminine, a more classic look or a more modern fit.

Q: How do I care for my garments?

A: Suits – After each wear, it is best to hang your suit outside the closet to allow moisture and odor to escape the fabric. Hang your slacks near the bottom hem using our felt bar hangers. This will naturally allow wrinkles to pull out of the fabric, reducing the need for pressing. Your suits are dry-clean only; dry-cleaning is necessary only when the garments become physically dirty. Garments should only be cleaned a few times a year. The quickest way to kill a suit is to dry-clean too often.

Shirts – Should be laundered in warm water and hand-pressed with a warm iron. Majority of shirts we make for our customers, we build in a crispness to the collars and cuffs. In that case, it’s best to tell your cleaner “no starch” to avoid a stiff shirt.

Q: Do you offer alterations?

A: Absolutely. When you come in for a custom suit, we take care of any alterations needed until the fit is perfect. For any older suits or suits not made by us can be altered. Price will vary. Turn-around times can vary, typically around 1-2 weeks.

Q: What is a bespoke suit?

A: A true bespoke suit involves a tailor who measures you then proceeds to cut your cloth from a single fabric. A bespoke suit is crafted by that same tailor. Unfortunately, bespoke has been taken out of context by many. Bespoke suits start around $5,000 and go to $20,000. There are no true men’s bespoke suit tailors in the twin cities today.

Q: What is made-to-measure?

A: Exactly as it sounds, we measure your entire body in great detail. Each of our maid-to-measure suits are made specifically for each individual. Some shops put you into one of three or four patterns then adjust. Be very careful of these shops – they are limited in how they can fit you. Generally, these are your lower priced shops.

Q: How much should a good made-to-measure suit cost?

A: It varies greatly. Two things account for a suit price: fabric and tailoring. Perhaps a third factor should play a role in MtM suit prices: how experienced is this person selling me my first custom suit? And do they have good taste? Our made-to-measure suits from the finest cloth in the world start at $1,250.
